SECOND MEETING IN CÁCERES

The German team is in Cáceres! After a long journey, the German team arrived at the hotel premises on Sunday 5th May. On Monday, both the German and Spanish teams, led by the principal of IES Javier García Téllez- Juan Payo- had a tour around the school facilities and workshops and an introductory presentation to the Spanish educational system.

The work during the second meeting in Cáceres evolved around four main workshops: Virtual Reality, Game-based learning, Augmented Reality and Industry 4.0.

Workshop 1: Virtual Reality

During the first workshop, the Erasmus team learnt about different existing VR solutions in the region of Extremadura as well as companies in our region involved in the use of VR. As for VR tools in education, teachers became familiar with popular VR and AR resources that are currently being used such as Moatboat, Storyfab and Cospaces Edu.
This first session included testing a 360º tour of Cáceres created with Cospaces and a practical workshop in which each member created a short VR experiences using the same tool.

PREPARATION FOR SECOND MEETING IN CÁCERES

AUGMENTED REALITY

During the second week of May, we received our German colleagues and continued working on our project Erasmus+ KA 229 Virgin 4.0.

As we already know, Augmented Reality is present in many classrooms and its use in education will continue to grow.

Thanks to Augmented Reality students have the opportunity to explore the enviroment that surrounds them in a new way and enjoy the eriching process of learning interactively. This combines real life images with virtual imagery to create an enviroment full of information including 3D objects, audio, video and complementary information.

The possibilities of Augmented Reality in the classroom are immense and teachers can use it in any level of education or subject.

For that reason, we set up a workshop to let our German colleagues know how to put into practice the Augmented Reality in our lessons.
